POET facilitates After School Activities every Fall and Spring. Some activities change and some don’t. Check each Fall and Spring to see what is offered!
Find out about each of this spring’s activities and sign up below. Some activities have grade restrictions and size limits. Please read the information on this website AND the sign up sheets. If a child signs up for a program they are unable to participate in, they will be removed.
*After School Activities are a privilege and if a student is not following directions, they will be asked to not attend. No refunds will be given. *

We excited to share that POET & our fantastic NDPA PE Teacher Mr. Vicente Ferrer have created a Multi-Sport Club. There are only 16 spots are available this spring. Classes will be held Mondays from 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the Elementary Gym.
💪 What Your Child Will Learn:
Students will develop essential skills in 3 different sports (2 weeks per sport), including:
✔ Coordination Eye – Hand – Improves balance, strength and fine motor skills.
✔ Coordination Eye – Foot – Improves balance, strength and gross motor skills.
✔ Motivation – Encourages a “can-do” attitude, determination and self-confidence.

AVAILABLE to 1st-4th grades
We are excited to share that POET & Tobin’s Elite Academy of Martial Arts (T.E.A.M.) are offering a Karate Club for Kindergarten to 6th-grade students! Classes will be held Tuesdays from 3:00 – 3:45 PM in the Elementary Gym.

Students will develop essential martial arts skills, including:
✔ Kicks & Punches – Improves hand-eye coordination, balance, and strength.
✔ Stances – Builds focus and discipline.
✔ Basic Forms – Encourages a “can-do” attitude, determination, and self-confidence.
✔ Rank Promotion – Reinforces the value of hard work and accomplishment.
✔ Bully Busting – Teaches communication skills to resolve conflicts before they become physical.

We’re excited to share that POET & our fantastic STEM Teacher Ms. Cadenas & 6th grade teacher Ms. Albaugh are created a 3D Printing Club. Classes will be held Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the Jr High (Classroom Room 202 and 206).
Have you ever wondered how things are made? In this fun and interactive course, students will explore the exciting world of 3D printing, a technology that transforms digital designs into real objects! No experience is needed, just curiosity and creativity!
💪 What the students Learn:
Students will learn step by step how a 3D printer works, how to create their own digital designs, and how to bring them to life with real printed models. Through hands-on activities, they’ll develop problem-solving skills, experiment with design and discover how this technology is shaping the future.
Available to 4th-9th grades
We’re excited to share that POET hascreated a Pokémon Club for 1st – 6th grade NDPA students! Classes will be held Thursdays from 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the Elementary.
Students looking for a fun opportunity to learn how to play, compete, flex their strategy and reasoning skills, and dive into the wonderful world of Pokémon are in for a treat.
💪 What Your Child Will Learn:
✔ How to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
✔ Learn strategies for building decks, calculating damage and making strategic moves.
✔ Developing social skills through friendly competition.
✔ All while engaging with other Pokémon fans and discussing Pokémon lore and trivia.

After School Activities are put on by NDPA POET. POET is a group of NDPA parents trying to give back to the school. Giving back to the students, teachers and administrators is our mission. Become a part of the NDPA POET family and help us give back.
